Planning and Design

- Determine the location of the water source, the layout of the main and branch pipes, and the spacing and quantity of drip emitters based on the terrain, area, and crop planting layout of the irrigation area.

Preparing Materials and Tools

- Materials include drip irrigation pipes (tapes), main pipes, branch pipes, connectors, elbows, tees, plugs, filters, fertilizer applicators, water pumps, etc.

- Tools such as scissors, hole punchers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

Installing the Water Source and Filtration Equipment

- If using well water, install a water pump. If using river water or pond water, set up a trash rack. Install the filter at the outlet of the water pump or at the connection between the water source and the main pipe to prevent impurities from clogging the drip emitters.

Laying the Main and Branch Pipes

- Dig trenches on the ground according to the design plan, place the main and branch pipes in the trenches, and avoid bending or twisting the pipes. Then cover and fix them with soil. Connect the main and branch pipes firmly with connectors to prevent water leakage.

Installing the Drip Irrigation Pipes (Tapes)

- Lay the drip irrigation pipes (tapes) between the crop rows, which can be laid on the ground or buried underground. Connect the drip irrigation pipes (tapes) to the branch pipes through tees or laterals, and ensure a good seal at the connection.

Installing the Drip Emitters

- Install the drip emitters on the drip irrigation pipes (tapes) according to the planting spacing of the crops and the water demand. The installation spacing of the drip emitters is generally 30 - 50 centimeters.

Connecting the Fertilizer Applicator

- Install the fertilizer applicator on the main pipe to apply fertilizer while irrigating.

System Debugging

- After the installation is completed, turn on the water source to check the operation of the system, including whether there is water leakage in the pipes and whether the drip emitters discharge water evenly. If there are any problems, make timely adjustments and repairs.

Daily Maintenance

- Regularly check the operation of the system, clean the filter to prevent clogging. At the same time, pay attention to observing the growth of crops and adjust the irrigation volume and fertilization amount as needed.
